A number of issues were highlighted by home owners to Donna Dernier(Melrose Management group)
-- Christmas decorations.Last years display was heavily critizised.Donna agreed to ask the board for additional funds.
-- Parking on Richmond Place Drive outside the Marquis appartments. Donna agreed to discuss the matter with Terry Allen.
-- Irrigation problems affecting trees. Donna agreed to carry out an inspection.
-- Landscaping. Dead ligustrum shrubs outside the Marquis appartments.They have been dead for some time and are an eyesore. Donna agreed to progress the issue with Terry Allen.
-- Dead Palm trees -Elmhurst/bainbridge. Donna agreed to investigate.
-- Damaged irrigation pipes at Danforth.The pipe was damaged by a truck used by Spivey, the cable laying contractor for Verizon.These contractors have been running riot in Richmond Place damaging road signs ,landscaping and other irrigation pipes.Unfortunately the latest damaged to the Danforth irrigation pipe occured on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.The result was almost five days of water loss before it was repaired.Donna To take up this issue with Verizon.

--Tom and Fred have both finished their term as administrative volunteers as from December 31st and will be replaced by Larry Brindley 971 5123 and Chris Boyce 632 6927.

I received a letter from Donna after the meeting answering some of the issues.
-- Christmas decorations.The board agreed to provide up to $100 for additional decorations.Phillis Byrd and I met with Garth of Stewarts Ass.on Friday the 15th and a decoration plan was agreed; they would purchase the additional hardware and install.Little progress had been achieved by Friday evening with just the anchor points and some lights installed.I spoke with Garth again and he explained he had run into difficulty purchasing the additional lights but the installation would be finished on Monday.
When we talked again on Monday he was pessimistic about getting any more lights but would hang what he had.We must start earlier next year with the prearation work.
--- Parking on roadways in short Marquis has assured Donna that it should no longer be necessary in future for anyone attending any services to park on the roadway.
--- As from December 7th the irrigation system has been retested and problems rectified.
---Landscaping at Marquis. Terry Allen has agreed to replace the shrubs.
---The action to replace dead palm trees will be
carried out when conditions are favourable and irrigation can be assured.

Transportation Progress

You are probably aware that Highwoods Preserve Pky
will be extended to West Meadows.Work to commence in March 2001 and be finished by July 2001 weather permiting.
The West Meadow link will connect at New tampa Blvd.which will be extended to meet the new bridge over the I-75,scheduled for completion late 2002.A road will be construted at the other side to link to New Commerce Dv.in Tampa Palms

Cross Creek Blvd. will be extended to Morris Bridge road work commencing now scheduled for completion July 2001.

Although some work will be carried on the off ramp going North on I-75 to Bruce B Downs to widen the exit to 2 lanes
and additional filter lane on Bruce B Downs going North will be added in the next 2 years ,the flyover of the I-75 from Bruce B Downs going South will not be complete till 2005 and the widening of Bruce B Downs will not we finished by 2008.

The East West connector PD&E study is due to start Feb 2001.

The annual General meeting of the POA will be at the end of January if you are interested in having home owners representation on the board then you should attend.
