Nature Center to ''Remove Deer'' ?

Posted in: Edgebrook
The North Park Nature Center will have a second meeting (about permanently removing the whitetail deer) July 28 at 6:30 pm. It seems that around 20+ deer wander around the preserve (46 acres situated near the forest preserves and river) and all but ''1.8'' make for an ''unbalanced'' ecosystem.

The first meeting was June 16, with deer statistics expert Chris Parsons. Killing all adult bucks and females, leaving only 2 adult Does seems to be the most humane and cheapest ''recommended way.'' For more info email me above. Since deer move in and out of the forest preserves, deer removal in cook county is also happening.
