Hi Everyone, Please mark you calendars for 2 upcoming meetings for the RaceTrac issue. RaceTrac is holding their own meeting at Hazel Hurst Community Center tomorrow, Wed 5/25 at 6:30 pm. They have sent out a letter telling the "Neighbors" that they "are proud to announce that RaceTrac is opening a new store..at the current Piccadilly site". This is correct information, this is egregeously misleading and completely false. RaceTrac is telling everyone that this is already a done deal, that it is not necessary to go the Planning Advisory meeting in opposition. Those statements are totally false and misleading. They do not want people showing up for the meeting.
RaceTrac's only "approval" is the application packet presented to the Parish. All other movement on this case has been deferred until the Planning Advisory Meeting Thursday at 5 pm at Council Chambers at the Yenni Bldg. RaceTrac is the 1st item on the agenda. RaceTrace wants a rezone of Piccadilly back parking lot from residential (R1A) to commercial. This should not happen. We need everyone in this area to attend both meetings. There will be petitions to sign in opposition, please make sure you sign them so that they can be presented at the Planning Advisory Board Thursday evening.
