River Trails Homeowners Association

Does anyone know anything about the sheltie looking dog that I keep seeing on the North side of Trinity Blvd, just across the street from the Thames Street intersection?  My husband took some water and cat food - we don't own a dog and didn't have any dog food - over to it and it went thru an opening in the fence away from the street.  It is a great looking dog but it won't come to you.  My husband said there were several containers on the ground near where it was, which shows that people have been giving it water and/or food.  I just hate seeing it over there but it won't come to you.  The street is so busy yet it seems to have some street smarts and stays out of traffic.

I just wondered if anyone else was aware of it and if anyone in the neighborhood might be missing a dog.

I understand it's been there for a while. If animal control is called, they may be able to set a trap (harmless), but once they have him, he won't stand a chance. They will euthanize him since he is feral.

I doubt that he survives the winter.

its a small dog? or big dog?

I entered this post back on August 17th.  I haven't seen the dog in about three weeks now.  It was a great looking black and white sheep dog - kind of mid size.  He/she didn't look scrawny or dirty, it looked like a healthy smart dog.  I am praying that he/she went home or the owner found it.  But, I don't think it's hanging around there anymore.
