Guest Speaker
Representatives from Maryland Department of Transportation discussed the proposed Purple Line. It will be either a rapid bus or light rail; it will not be a Metro line. It will connect the College Park Metro stop with the New Carrollton Metro stop. It may run through the Riverdale Technical Court along River Road, down Kenilworth Avenue an up Riverdale Road. The proposed tracks does not take it into our community boundaries, it will be just outside the boundaries. Benefits to our community include:
• Easy access to more locations
• Potential for increased property values
• Noise and traffic should be reduced
• System will be environmentally friendly
There will be a link on the RRC Website for more information, and members will be notified of upcoming meetings via mail.

Concerns from members:
• Noise from parked cars, what are the laws that govern the noise levels?
• What are the laws for Ice Cream trucks; are the ones in the community legal?
• Tree maintenance is needed on 58th and Quintana
