Tip of the Month If a water pipe were to burst in your home, would you be able to locate the master shutoff valve? You could experience flooding and property damage, not to mention immense water waste, if you don’t locate the valve quickly. Mark it for quick identification, and be sure to show everyone in the family where the valve is located.
Speaker
Mr. Baker, Representative of Pepco spoke to the association about the blue print of the future and conservation. Go to www.pepce.com for home energy audit. Hints to help conserve energy are as follows:
• Turn the heat down, every degree lower saves 3%
• Change the filter on your AC monthly
• Set the hot water heater at 120 degrees
 Energy efficiency rating .91 is good, anything below that the tanks should be insulated
• Mix dryer loads, put some heavy clothes like jeans with lighter garments
• Use compact fluorescent lights that are energy star rated
 Lighting accounts for 20% of your bill
