Santa Ana River Task Force

The Riverview West Neighborhood is strongly opposed to the extension of the 57 freeway down the Santa Ana river. Currently there is a "Santa Ana River Task Force" in place to formulate a master plan that would trump the extension of the 57 freeway down the Santa Ana river by the OCTA in the future. However, the Riverview West Neighborhood does not have any representation on the task force and this is a concern as the Santa Ana river is our eastern boundary. The objects will be to:

1) Give the Santa Ana river a more natural look
2) Combat the OCTA that wants the freeway
3) Gain Federal grant money for beautification
4) Prevent flood insurance from coming back
5) Help to establish a park setting for SA river

Santa Ana councilman Mike Garcia is spearheading this effort.
