TREASURERS REPORT
Danny Roth was not present, however, he gave his report to the Secretary. Seven more home/lot owners have paid their assessments bringing the RCA General Account to $7,890.17. The Dock Account has $7,513.72. Eight of the ten dock owners have paid. 2nd notices will be sent to those who still owe.
DOCK REPORT
There is still damage to the boardwalk as of this writing. Jeff Patton is hoping to have a downed tree removed ASAP so that he will be able to repair the boardwalk. We also ask that all dock owners check their slips to see if they need to be dredged. If you decide you want your slip dredged please contact Lisa Lindell (897-7372). We hope to have the dredging done by the 2nd week in June.
NEW BUSINESS
STREET LIGHTS: Linda Patton met with LG&E to see where the street lights can be placed. They determined that the only location feasible (due to the placement of electric poles & the interference with the bedroom windows of homes) is at the corner of Riviera & W. Riverside. The cost will be $9.53 for one pole & $9.70 for the electric. Total cost to RCA will be approximately $20.00 a month. Rhonda Oechsli made a motion to install the street light; it was seconded by Lisa Lindell. The Board then voted to install the light.
THANK YOU: A huge Thank You to Carlos Terrill who has built a picnic table to place on our pavilion! Carlos rocks!!!
MSD RUN-OFF: Linda Patton contacted MSD regarding the run-off from the recent construction. MSD is sending an area team to check the fact that we have standing water after it rains. Anyone who would like to complain about this problem please call MSD (587-0603) & tell them that the ?“new construction is not complying with run-off.?” Hopefully this will get their attention & the problem will be corrected. An alternate phone number is to call ?“311?” & tell them the ?“new construction is not complying with run-off.?”
PAVILION USE: Due to the over-crowding of our private pavilion during the Thunder fireworks this year (& in years past) the Board will designate our Pavilion as a PRIVATE PARTY & give residents wrist bands for them & their guests. In view of the fact that our pavilion can only accommodate a certain number of people the number of wrist bands allotted for guests will need to be limited. The Board will determine a number at a later meeting. We will also have a LARGE re-usable banner made saying ?“PRIVATE PARTY?” in hopes of discouraging drive-ups. We will have two or three people stationed at the pavilion entrance to check wristbands. Also, it appears that the lawn furniture that was placed on our pavilion for residents to use has been stolen. Please lock the gate if you use the Pavilion.
HOUSE FOR SALE: The Board had a discussion regarding the house at 4230 River Road being listed with a commercial real estate company. This listing is described as ?“?…an excellent location for potential Patio home/Town home development.?” The Board has strong concerns that this could be a reality. To comply with the flood zone building standards these homes would have to be built up at least 16 feet (possibly higher due to new regulations). We will be speaking with River Fields to see what their opinion is regarding the potential development.
DOG WASTE: When you are walking your dog through Riviera PLEASE pick up the waste the dog or dogs leave in residents yards.
DIRT PILES: Lynette Schneider brought up the fact that several children were recently playing on a dirt pile at one of the new construction sites. They were throwing rocks &, also, turned over a port-a-can. We are asking residents to ask their children & grandchildren not to play on constructions sites. They could be injured or cause injury to someone passing by.
COX?’S PARK/RIVER ROAD: At last months Board meeting, Lynette Schneider brought up the issue with the Sunday traffic congestion at Cox?’s Park/River Road. This was not mentioned in last months minutes because the Board felt this issue did not directly apply to Riviera. Ms. Schneider attended this months Board meeting & again brought up this issue. Ken Fleming has been able to have four police officers assigned to the entrances of the Park but this does nothing to deter the congestion. While the Board still agrees that this does not directly apply to Riviera we are asking that if you are unhappy about the traffic at Cox?’s Park/River Road on Sundays please call the Mayors office. The four police that are stationed at the entrances cannot leave their posts to handle the enormous crowds.
Personal note: I, Lisa Lindell, would like to use this public format to apologize to Ms. Schneider for being disrespectful to her during our Board Meeting. I hope my apology will be accepted.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:10 pm.
