Closing of Rolando Park Elementary School

Recently this web site posted an article concerning the potential closing of Rolando Park Elementary School in 05-06. It is my belief that in order to make solid choices and decisions in life an individual need to have access to all pertinent facts and information.

Th solution to the closing of one school is not to advocate the closing of another.
Clay Elementary is a neighborhood school with the majority of our students walking to school from within the Rolando Community. Clay offers the Rolando Community a continuation of Special Education services, GATE programs, along with before and after school day care services.

The current enrollment at Clay is 392 students, grades K-5. At this time utilizing current onsite facilities we have an additional 6 rooms that can be used as classrooms accommodating up to 156 additional students. We have space for our student population to grow as the demographics within the Rolando Community continue to change.
