Windows

To prevent double sash windows or sliding glass doors from being opened from the outside:

• Place appropriate sized dowels or rubber tipped, extendable, shower curtain rods in the window tracks to keep the windows shut and prevent someone from using a crowbar or other means to open windows.

Doors

To prevent unauthorized access via doors with adjacent windows:

• Install double keyed entry dead bolt locks which require a key to unlock from the outside and inside.  Schlage makes the best dead bolt locks.
