Neighborhood Meeting Minutes 4/20/05

New Neighbors and Introductions

We had a pretty decent turnout for our first meeting of the year. We had 3 new neighbors attend this time. Those neighbors were Cecil Followell who lives on Sonia in Brook's old house, Angie Burandt who lives on Casper and has the half painted red door (she's working on it, red's a hard color to paint with) and Tracie Miller who lives on Sunsprite and is the only one with an original tree in her front yard. Thank you all for coming it was very nice meeting you.

We did introductions and learned about some home businesses that our neighbors have. Some of them include: Jerry Rousch (not sure of the spelling) has a business that deals with air purification and water purification. He lives at 2106 Sonia. Marvin Holt owns his own digital video business which offers a variety of different services. He resides at 2117 Sunsprite. Brandi Solomon owns her own business selling candles through Partylite. She does in home shows. She resides at 2339 Sunsprite. If you ever need any of these services keep these neighbors in mind.

Neighborhood Watch and Association Handbooks

We discussed the topic of starting up a neighborhood watch program. I have printed out a copy of what the costs would be and I will be looking into the pros and cons of this program. I will come up with some sort of document to send out to everyone to look over. We would like to get as many people as possible involved in this project. We have a pretty safe neighborhood and I would like to keep it that way for our children.

Another topic that was discussed was the Association Handbooks and who received one and who didn't. We will be working on getting some to give to the people that didn't receive one. If you did not receive one of these handbooks and you weren't at tonight's meeting than please contact me at brandiar15@netzero.net to have your name added to the list.

Neighborhood Garage Sale

I think I have all the communication I'm going to get at this point for the garage sale so here's what I have come up with. I think we have enough interest in two dates: May 20-22 and June 3-5. I would like to have the garage sales on both of these weekends. What I will be doing then is at the June 3rd garage sale I will go around to each participant and collect money from them to go towards the cost of advertising in the Gazette and putting signs up around town. The amount will be dependent on whether you participate in both weekends or just one. I don't have a total of what it will cost but as soon as I do I will let everyone know. I don't imagine the cost will be too high if we get a lot of participants. I would also like to ask for anyone's help in making signs. I am thinking we can get a bunch of people together and work on them all together. I think this would be fun and a good way to get the kids involved.
