An example of how well our partnership with the Police can work occurred January 18th at about 3:30 PM. Five teens in a small SUV drove into our neighborhood on Niven. Just north of Cooper, one of them fired five to six shots from a .223 caliber rifle. They continued south towards Hoffman Park, where another youth fired a shotgun into the air. The group then drove slowly out of the neighborhood. Thanks to descriptions by several of our neighbors, Tucson Police stopped the vehicle about an hour later and made several arrests. Apparently no one was injured by the random shots.
