Students with the University of Arizona?’s College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA) in collaboration with the Drachman Institute, led by Professor Corky Poster of CAPLA, has been working on our Neighborhood Master Plan reflecting desired future improvements.
The Plan can be utilized to pursue new improvements directed and constructed by the City of Tucson. Additional City funding and/or monies from the current Bond Issues should be available for improvements to the RWNA area. CAPLA has given presentations at Board meetings. Their entire presentation will be given to the Board in a reduced packet and on CD-ROM format by the end of May. We hope to have them available at the Picnic in the Park.
Please join us and view the students?’ proposal new concepts and ideas for a jogging/walking path through the neighborhood, landscaping along neighborhood edges, a redesign of the Broadway corridor, and a shopping complex on the Broadway/Rosemont corner. Keep in mind that these are the suggestions of students, and are not business proposals! We could be investigating the implementation of some of their ideas; how about starting with the jogging path or landscaping?
