Zelin Canchola of the Tucson Transportation Department investigated the speed humps on 16th St. and Winsett to determine if they were at the correct height: I measured all 5 speed humps with our 6?’ level and tape measurer. Each speed hump met the National Standards 3?” - 4?” high. In addition I drove over each speed hump at our recommended posted sign of 15 mph and found the ride smooth and comfortable. Motorist that exceed our advisory speed limit 15 mph, will find the speed humps to be abrupt. An attempt to lower the height of the present speed humps on Winsett, would cause them to be ineffective, thus defeating the purpose of their design to slow traffic. I recommend, no further action at this time and that the speed humps remain at their present height.
