JTA Pushing Overpass

Nov 8, 2004 is a critical date and the time of 6:30PM is the time the session starts. JTA is holding a meeting at Twin Lakes Academy Middle School to present the proposed overpass. They have totally disregarded the opposition and the only ones who seem to want to support the overpass are the City Employees save one person who spoke in favor of it last year. We have petitions, we have home owner, business owner and property owner support but JTA is ignoring us.

JTA spokesman is quoted in an article in the Times-Union on Oct 30 as saying they will not pay attention to "Popular Opinion" but will only use their scientific data which we have objected to since the idea started as the info has been outdated, inaccurate and does not take into consideration the completion of 9A nor the problems caused by congestion at Touchton Road and the Tinseltown area.

JTA has forgotten that it is a government agency with civil service employees who work for the PEOPLE.

Call your City Councilman, Art Shad. Flood his office with telephone calls and emails (Ashad@coj.net). Let him know how you feel and solicit his support. So far he has not committed to helping us.
