Ruby Hill Neighborhood Association

98/09 Grant for Neighborhood Policing

Sep 17, 1998

Jan Belle, President of RHNA, applied for a grant available to neighborhood associations. This grant is for monthly bulletins about what is happening in our neighborhood. This grant is designed to keep neighborhoods informed about any police activity or criminal activity that may be occurring in the neighborhood.

With this grant comes the opportunity to use ?³Fresh Start?² workers to deliver the bulletins (newsletters) to the entire neighborhood for only $50.00. This money may also be used refreshments for meeting.

The grant required that:
Two police officers show support, Nick Groves and Mike Rossi have given their support.
Two officers of a neighborhood association show support, Jan Belle and David Vigil
And a letter from Councilman Himmelman?¹s office was written in support

The grant is for $1975, the association feels that if managed carefully, this money could last us a couple of years.
