SCHERTZ-CIBOLO OPTIMIST CLUB

April 26th Minutes

Jun 02, 2005

At the April 26, 2005, meeting of the Schertz-Cibolo Optimist Club, more information was presented on the Optimist organization. The club met the challenge of signing up enough paid Charter Members to qualify for membership requirements. As Jack Hopkins remarked, ?“We did it and we ain?”t done yet!?”

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. people began arriving in the meeting room, As time passed, the crowd begin to grow and grow and grow! The New Club Building Team became so excited that we were almost late starting the meeting. When we all caught our breath, Bobbie Dyer rang the bell to begin the meeting with a prayer and the Pledge to the Flag. Each individual introduced himself/herself. As Bobbie introduced herself, she related that Rand was so excited about tonight?’s meeting that he had the entire family arriving at Harmon?’s at 3:00 p.m.

Bobbie then called on Jack Hopkins to give us a power point presentation of an overview of the Optimist Program. There were many comments of praise about the presentation.
A third of the way through the presentation, Jack stopped and gave the group time to finish filling out their applications and to write the membership fee checks. It was noticed that there was quite a buzz session going on at this time. The Club Building Team
