INTERNATIONAL FIELD REPRESENTATIVE WILL VISIT THE SCHERTZ-CIBOLO OPTIMIST CLUB

Past Vice President of Optimist International and current International Field Representative, R.E. WINDHAM, will be in attendance Monday, June 6, 2005, to officially charter the Schertz-Cibolo Optimist Club. This meeting is a must for all club members to attend. To charter with Optimist International, our club must have sixty percent of our members present. We must have a minimum of twenty- four (24) members in attendance at this important, historical meeting! Our Club is counting on each member to be present to receive a charter pin. Meal Time is 6:30 P.M. Meeting begins at 7:00 P.M.

MAY 10 MEETING ?– A HUGE SUCCESS!

The Schertz-Cibolo Optimist Club was honored to have special visitors. Governor JERRY ESCHBERGER and First Lady. TRILBA, of South Central Texas Optimist District surprised everyone with their presence. They reside in Pflugerville, Texas. We also welcomed MIKE EDWARDS from Corpus Christi, Texas. Mike is serving as the very capable South Central Texas District?’s Director of New Club Building and Expansion.

Club members in attendance were divided into three groups, each with a designated task to accomplish. One group
discussed By-Laws, one made nominations of club officers, and one suggested ideas for project and fund raising.

The nomination committee came up with a super slate of officers and board members. The By-Laws committee arrived at the following:

The official annual dues are
$100.00 a year

The By-Laws, the Slate of Officer Nominations, and other recommendations will be voted upon and will become official at the Charter Meeting on June 06, 2005.

NOTE: MEETING DAY CHANGE

Our next meeting will be on Monday, May 23, 2005. DONNA TURNER will conduct this Model Club Meeting. All of our future meetings will be held on Monday evenings. The majority of our club members voted to change the meeting night from Tuesday to Monday night.

We all need to be proud that OUR CLUB now has 37 paid members. We have an additional four or five interested individuals who have promised to become members.

FAY HOPKINS closed our meeting with the Optimist Creed almost four minutes early. It should also be noted that after the meeting, members stayed and visited with one another for some time even though the Spurs started playing at 8:30 P.M.
