Sewer Work Will Slow Traffic Near
Washington Park Rose Garden
February 28, 2003

Traffic on SW Kingston Avenue near the Washington Park Rose Garden will be
slowed by sewer construction for two to three weeks starting Monday, March
3.

Two-way traffic will be maintained in a single lane on Kingston during work
hours. However, motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes on
Kingston and use alternate routes if possible.

Work hours are generally 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with
Saturday work allowed at the contractor's option. There will be one lane of traffic in each direction during non-work work hours.
The work is part of the Tanner Creek Stream Diversion Project. Environmental
Services is building the project as part of Portland's program to reduce
combined sewer overflows (CSOs) to the Willamette River.

stormwater and ecosystem restoration projects.
