Bright spots in Brightmoor

We continue to see good things in Brightmoor. I think one of the brightest spots is that the 24/7 garage sale is gone!!! 1st Stop has a nice face lift on their building. We have 2 new Businesses since our last newsletter. There is a new car wash at Fenkell and Burt Rd. There is a Day Care Center at Fenkell and Fielding. We understand the Non Profit group of Northwest Detroit Neighborhood Development has control of the old Mini?– Station at Fenkell and Burt and we look forward to seeing it turn into an asset that will contribute to the Community.

The Brightmoor Environmental Committee was involved in getting 15905 Braille torn down. The kids at Burt Rd. school across the street are safer. Also 21101 Fenkell is gone after being an eyesore for years. Keep up the good work!! And thank you Ms. Hilton.

In the near future we will see the block where West-SideDoJo is between Greydale and Burgess come alive with a project containing 5 stores, a gym, classrooms and other good things

We've been told St. Christine's and St. Gemma's will be merging. It?’s not certain at what site yet, but what is for sure is that the Out Reach Programs such as the Pantry and Soup Kitchen will stay where it is.
