Secretary’s Report:
Minutes were accepted as written.
Lee Russo – Covington Police Chief
Chief Russo addressed the group and shared his background, history and what his vision is to make CPD an even better department than it already is. He addressed many of the concerns we currently have and continually stressed that communication between the officers, police administration and the community is essential to the continued success of CPD. Chief Russo encouraged the citizens to call 292-2222 when complaints or concerns.
Chief Russo was accompanied by Lt. Col. Spike Jones and Officer Smallwood. Officer Smallwood stayed after the Chief & Ass’t Chief left and addressed the group at length at the latter part of the meeting, and emphasized the importance of calling things in to the PD whenever something seems wrong. If you do not see a response, or are dissatisfied with the response, please call dispatch right back and ask for the Shift Supervisor and explain the situation. He also instructed people to report suspected drug activity to the CSU division. That contact is Sgt. Nader at 292-2236.
A photo was taken with the SCCAA attendees and the CPD representatives to be published in the Cincinnati Enquirer.
