Thanks Happy. I was actually afraid people would bash me for "fear mongering" ... just being real.
I'd be willing to pay it too, but I dare say others would. I personally think our fees are already too high for what little the neighborhood offers (not saying I want a carnival every friday or anything, but lower fees would be nice.)
This neighborhood offers 3 escapes. Thats a criminals best friend. They can come in and go out any number of ways, unlike a 1 way in, 1 way out neighborhood.
I love the pool idea, wish I had a pool, but honestly, my son, wife, home, and possesion I work hard for are more important to me than my tan lines and the snorkle I never use.
Whatever deters criminals, the better. My friend lives in cloverdale. Their dues are (gasp!) voluntary, and they still have a paid security guy patroll the neighborhoods. Granted, that area is full of VERY wealthy folks who don't mind paying for that, but still, something along those lines would be nice.
Again, just brainstorming here.
Until then, be aware of your surroundings at all times (at home or in Thug-gomery), use motion detecting lights, and keep the guns loaded (but in a safe place) :)
