Torch in our hood

neigh bor hood

Your caution on verbage piqued my curiosoty so I got out the old dictionary. Neighbor comes from the word neigh, meaning nearby and =hood is a noun suffix meaning the state of, so neighborhood means the state of being nearby. In this context, hood cannot stqand alone. It is not a word.

The torch will be arriving in Louisville around 4:30 PM on the 16th. After several meetings with Churchill Downs and other neighborhood leaders, we felt it was best to attend the mayor's program at the convention center starting at 3:00 PM. But there will be plenty of good spots to view to run along the route. The city has begun to post route signs so look for the purple signs in your neighborhood.
question

Does that mean your group will be at the convention center ? or that you would recommend that we would do that rather than your original idea ? Also, several people have came by your office to check it out but no on ever seems to be there ? The front of that building looks to be deserted. What with the newsletter not posted we took it that maybe your group is now defunct ?

Still Kicking

We are currently taking the Christmas Season off but will be back in 2002. Membership renewal for 2002 has started already. As for the exterior of our building, we will be doing some clean-up after the first of the year. Perhaps the city may give some grant money to help out. The whole area of Fourth St. could use some Louisville Development Authority assistance!
