Why should you come to the South Park Baptist Church?

We believe we have what you're looking for, and we know God has what you need!!!

Our Minister

Dr. James Blackwell...has been ministering to our congregation for over 12 years. He is well known in the area for his care and compassion in the hospital ministry. He is well versed in the scriptures and has taught Greek to seminary students for The Southwestern Baptist Seminary. He is a true "Pastor" in every sense of the word.

Our Music Ministry

Mrs. Nancy Brady, Music Director

...leads the choir and congregation to a worshipful experience at each service. The adult choir presents two cantatas each year, accompanied by the youth drama department.
The "Crescendos of Praise" a ladies singing group, delights our membership and other churches with their music.

Our Youth & Children Ministry

Melissa King & Jennifer McCauley, Directors of Students

...are dedicated to helping young people to know God in a personal way, along with the opportunity for them to engage in recreation and fun projects including puppets, drama, choir and playing choir chimes.

Senior Adult Ministry

Reverend Eugene Eberly

...former chaplain at St. Elizabeth Hospital for many years, assists the pastor in visitation and Senior Adult Ministry.

Our Congregation

Our church motto, "Where Love is the Key", truly describes our members who have a genuine concern for each other, where all ages come together in a family atmosphere.

Wednesday Bible Study

At 6 pm, Dr. Blackwell leads the church in an in depth bible study. In an informal atmosphere, the pastor uses the chalk board to illustrate his teaching material, along with an outline on paper for each person. He allows time for questions at the end of each session.

In the Community

South Park Baptist Church opens the doors on the last Thursday of each Month for the South Park Neighborhood Association meeting.

On the last Friday of each month we are host to a neighborhood group, "The Friendship Club". They have a covered dish meal, fellowship, dominos and entertainment at each meeting. Several times a year the friendship club sponsors trips.

Our gymnasium is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8 am for those who wish to walk or use the exercise equipment.

A senior citizen domino club meets each Monday at 12 noon. If you love to play, you are welcome to join them.
