Mirand will address some of the following with Watch Commander Lt. Brown.
How does the process work? What's included and who makes the decisions?
Are there any other question the group would like to see addressed on this topic?
Lt Brown's answer:
The Daily Activity Logs are a snapshot of significant crimes created by our Public Information Office. The information is provided to them by the lieutenant or sergeant working specific areas. Lt’s and Sgt’s write an internal document at the end of their shift providing detailed information on crimes series, violent crime (usually a weapon involved) or cases that need to be vetted department wide. The PIO receives that document, redacts details that might be needed for investigative purposes or privacy rights, and posts it in the Daily Activity Logs. There are times less significant calls are captured in the log. These calls are included to give a more clear picture as to what we do on a daily basis.
