A new study of 17,000 Iowa families finds that there was significantly
more
violence in families participating in welfare reform programs than in
those
participating in earlier models of welfare support. The nonpartisan
report
also found that family incomes dropped substantially for families in an
enforced welfare-to-work model, pushing them further into poverty. See
