The new federal education law requires each school to send annual
report cards to parents. While the focus of this National School Board
Administration article is on reporting test scores, it also explores many
more ways to know about a school: Do lots of students get A's or do lots
of students get low grades? Are staff development and in-service
training offered, and are teachers experienced? Attendance and tardiness
numbers can also tell a lot about a school's morale and potential problems
with dropout rates.
