Poor families are paying a higher portion of their children?’s dental
care
expenses out-of-pocket than middle-income families because their
children
are not receiving the dental care they are eligible for under state
Medicaid programs, according to research published in Pediatric
Dentistry.
Since dentists cannot accept out-of-pocket payments for services
covered
by Medicaid, families either did not report their child as Medicaid
eligible, or the dentist they sought care from was not a Medicaid
provider. E-mail Sarah
