Thanks to outstanding work by child advocates all around the country,
Congress received 14,000 e-mail messages in support of increased
funding
for the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) on March 4th.
This impressive showing indicates what an extraordinary difference our
mutual efforts can make.
Congress must act this year to renew the CCDBG, the major source of
child care funding for low income children and families. Our continuing
efforts will be essential to convince Senators and Representatives to
add $20 billion to CCDBG over the next five years in order to improve
the quality of child care and provide assistance to an additional 2
million children. We have to impress upon them that quality child care
is critical to help families work and children learn. Stay tuned and

events.
