Darnall Residents,
What are your interests? What information do you need? In the next year we would like to include presenations from speakers on topics your interested in. Recently, a request was made to find out how we could get trees in the neighborhood. We took that question and through our contacts, organized a presenation by People For Trees. If you have any ideas please email me.
Thanks

Questions & concerns...
Speeders are a big problem throughout our neighborhood, even in the cul-de-sacs. Roudy neighbors can also be a problem, one the police don't seem too concerned about until it's gotten out of hand.
The Megan's Law website shows many registered sex offenders in our area (some are high-risk). How do we find out who we should be concerned about when it comes to our kids?
Since when did the Darnall Digest become Barbara Belcher's own personal advertiser? It's delivered accompanied by her advertising, ''supported'' by her advertising, and the section ''Maintaining Your Home'' in the April issue was no more than an ad for her services. Is this the same woman we've seen driving 5MPH on the wrong side of Boren Street as she talked on her cellphone? Enough is enough.

Old minutes...
...from meetings answered some questions, but left some too.
Rowdy neighbors have prompted numerous calls by us. Responded to within 1 hour once, 3 hours twice and NO response 4-5 times. Contacted Code Compliance two months ago and only recently has owner met with person on the case (most of our problem has been because of an illegal addition built into the side setback which new tenants have been using as a game and party room. It's been nearly 4 months since they moved in and we're still losing sleep (and cleaning up beer cans and broken bottles from in front of our house).

Questions & Concerns Reply
SPEEDING
In talking with the officers of the Oak Park, College & Rolando Community Councils speeders continue to be a problem for all our communities. Councilmember Madaffer has worked to purchase a speed trailer for our district let us know where the speed problems are so we can have the trailer at those sites. This is an ongoing problem and one that relies on people changing their driving habits. (That's a tough one). What we can do is possibly deter them from speeding by placing the trailer at strategic locations.
ROWDY PARTIES
When reporting these disturbances please ask to speak to a dispatch supervisor if you feel like your getting the run around. In addition, contact Councilmember, Madaffer's office and let him know the time, date and response that you're getting from the non-emergency operator. Chris Matter our contact cmatter@sandiego.gov or 619-236-6677
MEGAN'S LAW
To view the details you need to go down to the San Diego Police Department mainstation. Call the non-emergency for numbers or check their website for details. The information is free of charge and available to the public during business hours.
DARNALL DIGEST SUPPORTERS
The Digest isn't Barb's personal advertiser. Barb is an active member in our community and serves on the board, lifted and toted at the community clean up, delivers the Digest and pays to advertise in the Digest. Advertisers are one of the reasons the Digest can be published. Yes someone has to pay the bill for printing costs. To encourage advertisers the Digest offers those who buy large ads an informational article to encourage community interest in their expertise. Previous advertisers CarCo and All Veteran's Construction also had similar articles incorporating their business with the interests of Darnall. The DCC appreciates all contributions large and small, monetary or in kind I encourage you participate actively in your community.
