P not sure how long you've lived here but, we've lived here for over 16 years, and this has been a sore spot for this community, with several meetings with the street division. All these questions have been answered 100 times.
It will come to the day that we won't have a choice and the city will just pave it!
Go to Austin Bluffs Pkwy and Platinum Dr that sub-division has paved roads with no sidewalk or curbs.
The traction is worse with the dirt roads, because when it does melt (fyi they don't plow now) it becomes a mud hole (at last for days) and then ruts you can loss a small dog in, which doesn't get plowed. If it was paved it would be just like any other city residential plowing. This is what I did several years ago -- After it snowed I watched how long it took for the snow to melt on the paved Brady Rd (across from our sub-division) vs how long it took the mud to dry up on our roads and the paved street won. Not only won but one of the years that the snow was deep the city actually plowed Brady (paved road) and here we sat with mud and ruts! Don't take my word for it watch yourself this winter.
But I would like to give my vote and if someone out there is the volunteer please contact me. Thank you. K
