The Schaefer 7/8 Lodge Neighborhood Association will hold it's Quarterly Open Membership meeting on Sunday, February 24, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Vandenberg Elementary School located at 15000 Trojan and Carol. Questions from the floor will be permitted at the meeting.
Our guest speaker for this meeting is none other than city of Detroit council member, the Honorable Sharon McPhail. In addition to her duties as a member of the Detroit City Council, Ms. McPhail is also a Partner/Trial Counsel at Feikens, Stevens, Kennedy, Hurley and Galbraith, P.C. of Detroit, Michigan. Highlights of Ms. McPhail's career include over 20 years as practicing attorney with experience in government relations, arbitration/mediation, employment/negligence law, warranty law, and drug and pharmaceutical law. Ms. McPhail served on the Senior Advisory Council of the Transition Team Cluster Group for Justice and Civil Rights established by former President William "Bill" Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore. Ms. McPhail has also served as President of the National Bar Association, board member of the Detroit Branch NAACP, member of the State Bar of Michigan, chairperson and member of the Detroit Police Commissioners, member of the State Officers Compensation Commission, referee of the State of Michigan Civil Rights Commission, board member of Orchards Children's Services, Historic Trinity Church, Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Wayne State University WDET Radio, Federal Bar Association and the Wolverine Bar Association.
