  • Respect-O-Meter: Respected Neighbor

Well,  I suppose I deserved the ranting and ravings of a crazy neighbor who never really explained why......why this was so important to her.

Oh! Ouch please don't tell me to shut up TCB that is just so unkind and un-neighborly of you...[sniff]  GIVE ME A BREAK

First of all,  my post wasn't meant to be neighborly.

My neighbors and I are not going to waste our time with you TCB - I've read your pathetic posts before and will not even go there the way some of these others choose to do with you.

Good and Thank you.

You are so not worth my time.

Again - good I didn't post for you - I posted for the kids and how this is the right thing to do.

However I feel compelled to make a few things clear since you might've misplaced your reading glasses.  The fence is not being built for the kids -

Yes it is.  Get your facts straight before posting.  The kids are all talking about it.  IT'S FOR THE KIDS.   Thought I made that point in my post.  Quoted by the Principal...THANK YOU.

Again - you don't have all the facts

It's being built because of ONE neigbbor's complaints.

True and for the Kids.

Have you ever driven around the neighborhood?

Yep - I live here.

For your information there is also a 12 foot backstop at the SW end of the school that no one has ever once complained about.

Believe I already posted that.

But we choose to not agree with a 12 foot fence from end to end - Simply because it will not stop every ball from crossing over...then what???  A 20 foot fence...C'MON.  We're not saying remove both soccer goals and we're not saying it's the only solution...

Hmmmm - yes you and your neighbors DID ask to have the soccer goals removed in place of the Fence.  I drove by there yesterday and I really can not understand what your and your neighbors problem is with this.    My opinion - and again - I do not care what you think about my opinion.  Its for the kids - plain and simple.  If its good for one of our neighbors,  then so be it.  Taking care of two issues with one solution.

Now, where I reside in RT and the number of children I have and the activities in which I choose to sign them up is NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS -  SO YOU BETTER LEAVE MY KIDS FAR OUT OF THIS ONE PAL!!!

I have kids.  I have 2. And this does concern me -  PAL.  You on the otherhand can't even admitt whether or not you have kids that go to the school.   Wow,  big stand-up guy!

My neighbors and I choose not to voice our opinions on all the other topics because it seems this site is used to bully on each other rather than come together and work as neighbors should.  You TCB set the finest example of it.

Good,  don't voice them because they don't make sense anyhow.

You sure could use a lesson on how to communicate to your fellow neighbors.  There is a way to voice your opinion without being so damn hateful all the time.  You're bitter...like your puppy was stolen when you were 9 and you never got over it...bitter.  Well, you people have gone round and round about families riding in trails and we choose not to join in and chase tails in circles with you because of how you talk to each other.  So to answer your question (& waste more of my time) Yes, we chose to speak up about this...IT IS OUR RIGHT AND IF I FEEL LIKE GRIPING ABOUT A 12 FOOT CHAIN LINK FENCE  I'LL GRIPE ALL  I WANT TO.

Looks like you are griping.  Cool.  Go for it.  I really do not care.

We have our petitions and we GLADLY have our signatures.

Again,  cool - go for it.  I really do not care.   If thats what you feel is important then you should have petitions.  However,  what was the cause again?  Because it will make one neighbor happy?  And you have a problem making a neighbor happy and making the children happy?  Sorry,  I do not understand your reasoning.

Now you can reply and tell me to shut-up all you want (though I'd just LOVE IT if you did it to my face instead of behind your little anonymous TCB username like you do.)

Oh,  this is threatening language.  I do wish you would post who you are and where you live so everyone in the neighborhood could know just how neighborly you really are with this post.  Dont care about neighbors and dont care about the children AND wants to meet me face to face.  Listen lady,  all my friends know who I am on this board,  you dont because you are not my friend.  Maybe someday we will meet and we can be friends...but you will need to be a little nicer.

Thank you,   TCB123.

TCB123,

I agree with you. This is for the kids. So they want to complain re: the fence. OK, then they better not come complain when a baseball goes over the fence. My son's baseball team practices there and these kids are learning the game so some balls do not go where they ought to. It seems that a higher fence will help stop that problem.

Von4,  thank you for understanding and posting.  I have also seen where the baseballs go over the fence.  It is a small section that the fence will be placed.  Nothing different than having tennis courts.  It is for the kids at PE and after school.  So many kids in the neighborhood love to play soccer and baseball.   It would help teachers as they would not have to chase down so many balls.   It would help the school by not having to purchase replacement equipment.  My son is very excited that they will finally get to use the goals again in PE and recess and after school.  I am not sure what part of this is NOT for the kids.

Did anyone consider the fact it will also protect the kids against preditors?  Last time I checked the neighborhood had a couple of them, and who started the rumor that our taxes were paying for anything?  I wonder, is this fact or ASSumption?  When we built a fence at Hurst Hills the PTA(voluntary organization) paid for the majority of it with fundraiser money, and even if it's not paid for by the PTA, I know I'll breath a little easier driving around the school when there are CHILDREN playing!  I don't know what the big deal is, we obviously all live here or wouldn't be posting, my children are grown and gone, and never benefited from River Trails Elementary, but again, if it makes a safer, healthier environment for our children then there should be NO ARGUMENT from anyone, and Casper still hasn't let anyone know who he/she is, and no one has asked me to sign a petition.  This is as stupid as chasing people in the woods Geeze!  I guess maybe their children aren't much on sports and would rather play video games inside contributing to he decline in health and rise in obesity in our children.
