REZONING OF PROPERTY AT GATE AND BELFORT
About fifty people from Secret Cove and surrounding communities attended St. Vincent’s recent zoning meeting. Their representatives said they needed to rezone the 4.8 acres so they could sell part of it to raise money for development of a medical building. We presented a united front, explaining how this new zoning would create more traffic problems and open up the opportunity for businesses not appropriate to the area, etc.
As a result, the representatives from St. Vincent’s are taking our concerns to the CEO of the hospital. They said they wanted to be good neighbors and would discuss all sides of the issue, as well as look at alternatives for raising revenue. The meeting ended with a commitment from St. Vincent’s to contact us with a decision.
Thank you to all the residents who took the time to attend and voice your concerns with this type of commercial growth.
I will notify everyone via email as soon as I know anything. If you have not been receiving my emails, please give me a call at 737-9699.
