The Senior Men's Club of Arlington meets for lunch at 11:30 on the second Wednesday of the month at the Arlington Senior Center, 1000 Eunice St. the club is open to male residents of Arlington and contiguous communities 55 years old or older. The club began in 1985 to further members' fellowship, education, and charitable activities.
To further the education and social growth of senior men in Arlington through the advancement of their interests.
To promote better understanding and fellowship among them, and to conduct the club activities for charitable, literary, social, and educational purposes.
At the meetings, the members visit while having a sack lunch, then listen to a speaker selected by the Program VP. Subjects by recent speakers have included civic affairs, sports and historical topics. Visitors are welcome.
Twice a year the club meets for lunch with wives and guests at Shady Valley Golf Club. Entertainment has lately been provided by local high school musical groups, to which the club contributes.
An Investment Club is attended by a number of members, and bridge groups meet from time to time after the meeting.
In 2002 the club initiated a charitable activity with Arlington Charities, donating money and volunteering with Christmas basket deliveries to needy families.
