This has been addressed before.  I tried to search for it  in the forums so I could just cut and paste the answer but, I quickly became bored and discouraged.  It's the ADD in me. Sorry!!!

There are restrictions regarding sex offenders living near certain facilities such as schools. However, it is based upon their risk level and any restrictions placed on them due to risk.  This is per Officer Rick Benson who works for Fort Worth Police SCRAM unit (Sex Crime Unit). You can call him for details.  He said anyone can call the Tarrant County Probation Office and request details regarding risk level and restictions on particular sex offenders.  Some of the websites show risk but, I'm not so sure they are 100% reliable.

Atleast he registered.  You should attend Citizen's Police Academy and hear Rick Benson talk about how these individuals are tracked.  It's pathetic.  They (the Government) basically utilizes an HONOR SYSTEM for the criminals to check in and notify of their address changes and etc.  After hearing this, I can tell you there are unregistered sex offenders in this neighborhood that none of us including FWPD know about. I was disgusted by it.  Ofc. Benson us not happy with it either.

i was under the impression that when a sex offender moved in, a notice was sent to near-neighbors. anyone know if there is any truth to that? i could be totally wrong...

I saw the link and I saw him. I spoke with one of his neighbor and they didnt know anything about. She said she will be chack and themonly thing that she knows is that he is a new neighbor.

When I saw her talking with him and her 2 sons was when I decided to talk with her.

Was a coincidence that I saw her 3o minutes late so I could tell her.

Thank you for being nice enough, brave enough & smart enough to warn her.

Hopefully SHE is smart enough to heed your warning.
