I spoke with Tricia Gomers (602-262-7927) of the Planning Department City of Phoenix this morning and received verbal updated information, written update will be provided to those who were on the original mailing list.
Tricia indicated that the city was in error when they provided the information to the applicant Salvation Army about the proper notification of the use permit and the requirements. The decision that was made by the zoning office on February 28th is not valid; and the applicant can resubmit the request on March 29th at 10 AM. The city is looking for a conference room that will be available for this new hearing to take place. The error that was made was associated with the failure to notify adjacent property owners up to 300 feet from the building, and also any Neighborhood Association that is registered with the city (HOAs are not required to be notified) that are located up to one mile away from the location.
The next meeting will be on March 29th at 10 am location to be announced. This will be an important meeting to bring up all the issues that "everyone" has. All HOAs and interested parties should attend and present their objections.
