Not sure who, if anyone, is using thei website but I want to get the work out that our community pool and recreation area has been signed over to a property management company and is under contract to be sold. This has been done without any notification to the community and is being done, regardless of the excuses i've recived, purly for profit which the involved party does NOT intend to share with the community. Here are the facts...
Shallowford Village Recreation Association INC. ("SVRA") was formed in the late 80's for the purpose of managing the pool and driving memberships to help cover the pool op[eration costs. SVRA was dissolved in 2008 when the CEO, Vanessa O'Neal moved away. There were several folks who stepped up and worked to maintain the pool for years after that. Annette Huber assumed control of the pool for the purpose of driving memberships and to continue doing the great job that the original team had done.
Unfortunately, Annette did a very poor job driving memberships, paying property taxes and allowed the pool to continually degrade. In fact, it's been closed for more than two years now despite repeated attempts from others to assist. Our suggestions and recommendations have been ignored.
She has continued to request assistance with maintenance of the lawn and other maintenance items as recently as a month ago. I, in fact, spent ~6 hours a few weeks ago working on the lawn, trimming, pulling weeds etc... I, as have others, have donated time and materials for years to keep the pool operating but most recently, Annette failed to organize not allow others to organize efforts to keep things going.
We discovered a week ago that she has now transfered the property to Huber Propertys (her husband's company) via a quit claim deed for the amount of $10. Huber Propertys has listed the property and now has it under contract for a sellign price of $30,000. The transfer occired in Feb with Annette representing herself as an Agent for SVRA (which doesn't exist). She did not notify the community, post the intent to sell, call a vote or anything. In fact, when I volenteered to cut the grass a few weeks ago, I was doing so as a community member assisting with our common use area when in fact, the property was being preped to be sold and was under the control of Huber Propertys. Others have also been abused in this manor for the personal gain of the Hubers.
Please join me and others in our pursuit of legal action against the Hubers such that we can take back our porperty and get things back on track.
