Current petetion being passed around

Posted in: Audubon Trace

I believe we need to enforce ALL restrictions and not just the ones, "certain" individuals have an issue with. The current petetion going around refers to an "eyesore" of a storage building placed on a homeowners property on Blue Heron. Well lets discuss eyesores for a minute. How about the numerous trailers parked in plain view, boats too big garage doors can't close all the way, a batting cage next to a house on Wren ct., a wooden skate board ramp constructed in the driveway of a house on Wren Ct., the chain link fenced dog kennel under the carport of a house on White Egret. Not to mention the numerous other "eyesores" such as rusted trailers, lean to's built to cover lawn equipment, non domestic animals in the neighborhood, loud music at all hours of the night, 3/4 of the mailboxes painted one color... on and on and on .... It is time for all residents to take repsonsibility for their own houses and take pride to live in Audubon Trace.

ENFORCE ALL RESTRICTIONS OR NONE

To clarify one point, many of the garages do not have a window, so many homeowners crack the door for ventilation. This is important if you store gasoline in containers for lawn mowers, edgers, generators, etc. - these vapors can build up in a closed garage. This is  an even more serious concern if there is a refrigerator or freezer in the garage that could serve as an ignition source. This becomes even more critical in the summer months.

More importantly, this kind of nitpicking can destroy a homeowners association. In fact I lived in a subdivision that used to have a similar association, but the homeowners got disgusted with the harassment and voted it out. By the way, there is a section in the restrictions that spells out the process. If 2/3 of the homeowners vote for it, the association can be dissolved. Gee, maybe that's the petition that should be circulating - food for thought!

I agree bowtieman . ALL needs to be enforced. But right now, NOTHING is that is why people are doing whatver they want.. Seems to be "laxed". (except when fees are due.)  The neighborhood seems to be going in the opposite direction instead of protecting home values..... it is not bein nitpicky, just adhere to the rules that you agreed to by LIVING here.
