City of Southfield vows to enforce City Residential Codes

A meeting on Thursday, April 19, 2007 with City of Southfield Code Enforcement Officials, held at the old library, revealed that the city has re-organized and added some additional Code Officers to make sure that residents adhere to code.

Some of the highlights included:
Flex hours
7 Day monitoring
2 Kids-and-a-truck assistance for seniors
Absent property lawn cut program ($100 per cut to homeowner)


Dog and Animal Care must be maintained by Homeowners

Learned some revealing things?

Dog fece is a treat and a popular food source for rats!

Homeowner's will be monitored for adherance to maintenance areas.

Car Repair residue will also be addressed if a driveway is seen to have oil and gas. Environmental department will be brought into the issue if necessary.
