Physical Assault under bridge

Posted in: Silver Creek
On June 11, at about 8:45 p.m., my 10 year old son was physically assaulted and verbally harrassed by a group of approx. 6 teenage boys who all appeared to be of African American descent. My son was looking at the fish and crawdads in the creek, under the bridge at Hite Creek Rd., with his friend who is 11. This is something the boys had done several times before, but had never been at the creek that late in the evening. The group of teens showed up, talked a bit to my son and his friend, then loitered. My son's friend left to go home when his parent called him in, but when my son tried to leave a minute later, the group circled him and and attacked him. My son was picked up and thrown onto sharp rocks in the creek. He was also hit with rocks that were thrown, and was verbally harrassed throughout the assault. My son didn't know any of these boys, and had never even seen them before. On June 12, however, he identified face-to-face the teenager who picked him up and threw him into the creek. We located this young man at his residence, and he appears to be 14 to 15 years old, although he says he's 12. He says his name is David, but his neighbor says his name is either Kendre or Keon Mitchell. He resides at 4529 Biles Ct., which is near the end of the cul-de-sac on the right side. My son arrived home terrified, mud-covered, bruised, cut and bleeding in spots. He is okay, however, so I'm very thankful. I hope this message serves to alert everyone who lives in our area... so you can warn your children and be on the alert for future situations these bullies might present.
The following is supplemental information regarding the attack I described in this posting yesterday.  I have also referenced my previously posted article below to avoid any confusion.
New info.:  Louisville Metro Police Officer Torrens has confirmed that the teenage boy, who we located and my son identified on June 12, who resides at 4529 Biles Ct. with his Mom, Aunt, siblings, and possibly others is 15 year old Kendre Mitchell.  Officer Torrens said there have been previous complaints filed by neighbors about this young man.  We have not yet located the other offenders in the group (there are approx. 5 more male teenagers that took part in this attack).  Kendre Mitchell was the major perpetrator, as he threw my son into the creek, injuring him on the rocks.
Here's the full story in case you have not read it yet... I posted it last night...
