Your Meet Your Neighbors site has two intriguing pictures of Blooming traffic islands with two fascinating bungalows in each. I have a friend in Sacramento and she tells me that the islands have been controversial, but I am stiil interested in them. Your neighborhood , as she describes it, is similiar to ours and it would be nice to exchange info and pictures. Let me hear form you.

Hello, circles are being used in other neighborhoods in Sacramento now. I am hoping all controversy has been put behind us. Actually, the circles have not been targeted. It is the diverters that get the flack. There is a lot less of that too now. The City finally corrected their most grievous mistake at 21st and H.

Before we did all this traffic calming, the streets through our neighborhood were a frightful danger. The homes were neglected. There were hardly any children.

Traffic calming actually works. The average speed down these streets was 40 mph. Now, drivers seem mesmerized, as they now average 25 mph. They stop for pedestrians. Traffic calming puts a smile on almost everyone's face.

Our business corridor is more vibrant than ever.
