2. Communication, communication, communication. This is a key to good neighbors as well as the key to a good neighborhood group. Two examples: 1) You should keep your next-door neighbors informed when you are leaving town for a few days. This encourages them to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in your home. 2) You should discuss any neighborhood concerns you have at Skycrest Neighbor?’s monthly meetings. This will encourage a discussion that will lead to informing us all of an issue that is important to you?…a neighbor. These kind of things lead to a safer and friendlier neighborhood.
3. Crime Watch. As we get to know our neighbors better we naturally develop a stronger crime watch. Communication is again an important factor. When we see someone suspicious walking around, someone we do not recognize as a neighbor and acting or looking strange?…. call the Clearwater Police (562-4420). Their job is to investigate any suspicious activity. By being active, waving hello to neighbors, and simply becoming aware of our neighborhood?’s environment?… we all create a safer place to live.
