The Association will again sponsor a holiday lighting context, awarding prizes to the top five winners. Unlike previous years, judges will not be board members, or local elected officals, but a troop of fifth grade girl scouts from Green Gables elementary. This should make it more fun and bring a fresh approach to the contest. There won't be specific categories, just the "top five" choices of the girls will be the winners.
Scott Rogers of West Metro Fire Protection district gave a presentation of the association meeting on October 13, he stresses that safety should be a top consideration in designing your lighting displays. He recommends NO MORE than three strings of lights per extension cord.
Judging will be determined the the Girl Scouts schedules, but will probably be sometime during the last week of school (December 14 - 19). Remember to turn your lights on... only those seen will be included, obviously.
