Leaf Season 2005 will run for four weeks, beginning Monday, 07 November, and ending Friday, 02 December. As always, a total of up to 40 items will be taken from each residence, of which no more than 10 items may be regular household trash. The remaining items may be leaves. For example, a resident may set out 2 bags of trash, and up to 38 bags of leaves. Or 8 bags of trash and up to 32 bags of leaves. And so on.
We ask that all residents place their leaves out at the normal pickup location, but keep them a few feet separate from their regular household trash if possible so that the crews may differentiate between trash and leaves (each hauler will have a trash crew and a leaf crew). Also, please have all leaves set out by 7:00am on your normal pickup day.
To remind everyone that until leaf season starts on 11/07/05 there is a limit of 10 items per week that will be collected in hand collection areas. If a resident sets out 2 bags of trash and 20 bags of leaves, only 10 items will be taken. This rule also applies for any collections done after leaf season ends on 12/02/05. In cart collection areas, both before and after leaf season, all leaves that are to be collected must be placed in the cart for collection. During leaf season the leaves may be placed in bags next to the cart. Please try to keep leaf bags at least 3 feet away from the cart so that it can be emptied.
There will be no trash service on Thursday, 24 November, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Collections will run one day late for the last two days of that week. Thursday pickups will be done on Friday, and Friday pickups will be done on Saturday for that one week only.
