SWCA Board Nomination & Election Procedures

Sep 25, 2003

The following policies and procedures for board nominations and election were recently approved by the SWCA Board. They are basically the same as those used for the last three elections, just updated with 2003 dates. They are printed here so all members are knowledgeable beforehand.
- Nominations will be accepted during the Oct mtg, and (prior to the vote) at the Nov mtg.
- Nominations can be made only by members current in their dues. (The Treasurer will have the current listing of members at both mtgs.)
- - People can nominate themselves.
- Only members currently paid up in their dues, as of Nov 5th, can vote in the officer elections at the Nov mtg. (Although people will be allowed to join SWCA during the Nov mtg, they will NOT be able to vote for officers at that mtg.)
- The vote for officers will be conducted one office at a time, in the order of President, Vice-President, Secretary, & Treasurer.
- - Nominations will be accepted for each office until just prior to the vote for that office.
*People can pay dues in-person or by mail. The Nov 5th cut-off means payment must be made in-person or postmarked, no later than Nov 5.
NOTE: Because our Nov meeting would normally fall on the 24th, which is when many families are on vacation and perhaps out of town, the SWCA Nov meeting (and board election) will be held one week prior?—Mon, Nov 17, 6:30 PM, Sky Harbour Elem. Please plan to participate.
