De-Silting of Millers Pond on Hold

A check with Public Works (PW) revealed that the project to de-silt Millers Pond is on hold, pending approval of the work by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Because Millers Pond is a wetland, nothing can be done without Corps approval. PW said the permit application was submitted about 2 months ago, but the have no idea how long it will take for Corps approval. Funding for this project was previously identified by Councilman Martin and is still allocated for this work. Previously, all had hoped the work would be done within this calendar year.
