FINALLY!!!
I am pleased to announce that Spring Ridge will finally be getting speed humps. Through some hard work and determination I was able to get District 8 Councilwoman Cibrian to fund this project.
I know that several residents tried numerous times to get this approved but failed due to the traffic study stating that it was not warranted. But as many residents who live on Spring Ridge know, the dynamics of our street had changed over the past year. With frequent traffic from those drivers who chose to avoid the speed humps on Spring Rain, to families with children moving in, an elementary school being built across the street, and the numerous SPEEDSTERS who seem to drive like crazy down our street, this was a much needed remedy.
I chose to handle this matter personally and speak on behalf of the residents because I live on Spring Ridge and I have seen potential car accidents and children almost get hit by speeding vehicles. I too was a victim of a hit and run right in front of my home. As a resident I care about my neighbors and the children who live on my street.
I did try to utilize the ONHA a few times and even made phone calls and never got a response or my concern was not taken seriously. Well now I can say that the residents of Spring Ridge have been heard and the project should be completed sometime in 09.
I would like to thank Councilwoman D. Cibrian and her staff for making this happen and ensuring that the residents on Spring Ridge can feel a little more secure.
Sincerely,
G. Guzman
