My husband has been to some meetings when he has been able to change his hours @ work but it is difficult. I work Mon-Fri every evening & all day Saturday every week. That was why I was unable to become come involved with the board although I wanted to. Has anyone ever brought up the idea of a community garage sale? I noticed one recently @ Chimney Lakes advertised on a banner across their common area. Up north I was President of our block association & we had an annual "block party" where neighbors blocked off the streets with permission by the police & authorities for the day. This was planned in advance. Each house contributed a few $$ & that money went for children's entertainment, a few raffles of prizes to the homeowners participating, a DJ for entertaining the adults with music in the evening & prizes for the children's games. I had a committee for several projects & every year was a success & neighbors got to know each other better. I had 250 homes in my development. Not all the blocks were involved. At a meeting we ageed on a date in advance, people volunteered to run commitees & this went on for several years.
