ReZoning Case

Posted in: Parkview Oaks
You should all be aware by now that a developer has attempted to rezone the 11 acre site at the corner of Parkridge and Parkhurst from low density A-1 to medium density A2.5 zero lot line and A2.6 Townhomes. The total number of units planned was 77, with one entrance to development on Parkhurst.

We have successfully caused the developer to withdraw his original application to rezone, but he is working on another alternative to present to the Zoning Commission. It should be obvious that SOMETHING will be built on the site (11 acres in this neighborhood is PRIME property), the question is....WHAT?

So, What do you, the resident of Parkview Oaks Subdivision want to see built on the site?

Homes? Townhomes? Apartments?

Re-zoning Concern

Mark, My husband and I have a huge concern about drainage. Our home is on the same side of Parkhurst Drive as the Harrell Estate. The previous owners of our home spent $2000 on a drainage system in the backyard of the 5013 Parkhurst lot, as did the neighbors on both sides of us. Adequate drainage must be planned during the development of the Harrell Estate or our homes will again have a huge drainage problem.

Harrell Property

Whatever is developed we should also demand an entrance from Coursey with a stoplight. Failing that we should demand a stoplight at the Sherwood Forest entrance. Houses, apartments or townhomes will make it next to impossible to get out of the sub-divison.
Harrell Property Update!

There is a new zoning notice sign on the property this evening:

Case 56-07

I believe the hearing is scheduled for July 23rd at 3:00pm.

Time to get the word out!
